We are beyond excited about our latest collaboration with furniture designer Sam Klemick. Sam is not only an incredible local artist and friend, but our actual neighbor, living right above our studio!
Together we designed the Posie Lamp, a light that feels whimsical and poetic. It features a solid oak base paired with a handwoven palm shade.
Designing The Posie Lamp
We drew inspiration from Brugmansia, the Angel's Trumpet flower, translating its flared, undulating form into something softly sculptural.
Sam's approach to design resonates deeply with us: She lets the material lead. Imperfections and process marks become part of the story rather than flaws to hide, and her pieces feels warm and lived-in from the moment they're finished.
Working from her Los Angeles workshop, Sam handcrafts each base using salvaged construction wood and responsibly sourced red oak. This means every lamp carries subtle variations that make it truly one-of-a-kind.
Woven Angel's Trumpet Flowers
We worked with Belén Perez Garcia, a gifted weaver based in Oaxaca, Mexico to create the Posie Lamp's stunningly beautiful shades. Belén has been recognized by the Oaxacan Institute for Crafts for her exceptional skill. She gathers young palm leaves for the green tones and mature leaves for the blonde hues. Her fine weaving creates the most lovely, diffused light — exactly what we hoped for.
