CABIN IN THE WOODS | an oceanside retreat by Earth to People

We spotted this feature on Remodelista and wanted to reshare it because the designers are a team that we're excited to watch, and because it's fun to see our woven lighting pop up in people's beautiful homes.

Jordan and Brittany Weller of Earth to People transformed a 1920s lumberjack's cottage on the coast of British Columbia into a spare but cozy retreat. The cabin sits at the base of a glacial fjord, just twenty minutes from Vancouver in the seaside village where Jordan grew up.

The husband and wife team formerly used the space as a workshop for their in-house furniture line, made from wind-fallen cedar and collected sap.

Using that experience they worked with local materials like salvaged fir reclaimed from a nearby demolished elementary school, and furniture and sculptures they designed specifically for the space.

This sweet little table lamp is from a collaboration we did with vintage curator Veria of Irie Space.

Every detail is deliberate, there's nothing extraneous. It's simple and utilitarian, and yet the natural materials make it feel warm. Excited to see what these two do next!
