These traditional Xhosa Ingobozi baskets are handwoven by women in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The weavers harvest river reed, called imisi in Xhosa, which is used for both the weft and the warp of the weaving.
These baskets are beautiful enough to display, and practical enough to be used for storage in any room of the house. A lovely gift for those who like earthy, textural pieces.
