These natural sun hats were hand woven especially for us by women in a remote village in north-eastern Ghana. The artisans are supported by an organization in the area to create "inspiring pieces of traditional art". They are woven from vetavera or elephant grass - an abundant, local material. With a low crown these hats are best suited to smaller heads or those who like a shallow crown style. The tight weave offers excellent protection from the sun, and a leather strap keeps them in place. Reshape if needed by dampening with water.
